With an installation time of 6-8 hours, RIPP supercharger kits are the best choice to boost the performance of your vehicle.

1) What is the warranty policy on your products?

All products sold on our website come with one year of warranty and technical support from the date of purchase.

We ship to most countries worldwide. If you have any questions about shipping to a particular country, please send an email to sales@rippmods.com

2) Will a supercharger affect my engine in a negative way?

No, RIPP has taken every precaution to ensure your engine runs within safe parameters. We do not push the engine's limits to the point of risking reliability. With over 20,000 kits sold worldwide and 500,000 miles of collective data logging, we are confident that a properly installed RIPP supercharger will not negatively affect a well-maintained, smooth-running engine.

3) Will installing a supercharger void my manufacturer's warranty?

The short answer is yes. However, many dealers become RIPP dealers/installers after seeing our supercharger kits. Warranties vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, so your best bet is to contact them directly.

3) Why does the dynamometer chart in all your videos start at 3000 RPM?

When dyno testing for gas-powered vehicles with automatic transmissions, the real action usually starts at 3000 rpm and higher. This isn't just a random choice—it's all about understanding how the torque converter behaves in these vehicles. The torque converter, crucial in automatic transmissions, slips at lower RPMs. By engaging the test at 3000+ rpm (vehicle dependent), we can be confident that the torque converter is fully locked in and gives us a more accurate picture of how the power flows through the car during the test.

Sticking to this rpm range is not only about following industry norms; it also gives us valuable insights into the engine and the vehicle's overall performance. This approach isn't just about numbers; it’s about understanding how the car behaves in real-world conditions, which in turn helps improve performance tuning.

4) Does a supercharger increase the amount of weight I can tow?

Legally, you cannot tow more weight than the vehicle is rated for. You should always know and tow within your vehicle's weight limit to avoid legal issues, increased insurance rates, or worse an accident. Exceeding this capacity is both unsafe and illegal. Installing a RIPP supercharger on a 3.6L V6 improves towing efficiency, allowing you to tow heavy loads easily while achieving an impressive MPG — something V8s struggle with. For more detailed information, check out our Towing Bulletin. Its packed with real world information that will help clarify towing with your vehicle.

5) What effect does a RIPP supercharger have on MPG?

One of the most common questions we receive is about MPG and the additional fuel consumption of a supercharger in a V6 engine. The surprising truth is that our RIPP supercharger, when installed on a V6, often leads to enhanced fuel efficiency and increased miles per gallon, a unique feature that sets it apart from other superchargers.

Here's why: Centrifugal-style superchargers like RIPP's are very light to turn, unlike other superchargers on the market. When considering positive displacement, roots, or screw-type superchargers, those can rob 60 to 80 horsepower from the engine to spin up. That's no exaggeration - you can look that up. A RIPP supercharger will use 14 to 40 HP at the very most - and that's peak HP at the 800 horsepower mark, where the blower is spinning as fast as possible. So even if we assume we're taking 40 HP, it's half of any other supercharger style.

The RIPP supercharger is not only efficient but also user-friendly. It's easy to own, tune, and spin. When it's spinning lightly, it delivers fresh air that the engine would typically have to suck in on its own during a downstroke, making it a practical and convenient choice for V6 engine owners.

Even with a modest 1 or 2 pounds of boost, you're not sacrificing any power at the crank, and you can potentially achieve better gas mileage. While we can't guarantee improved gas mileage due to individual driving habits, numerous reviews and testimonials online attest to the RIPP supercharger's potential to enhance fuel efficiency.

6) What other modifications do I need to make to my engine in order to install a RIPP supercharger?

Do you need to change my pistons? Do you have to put in head studs? Do you need a metal head gasket? Do you need to install a larger water pump or change the fuel rail? No, none of the above.

RIPP supercharger kits are designed to be installed on factory stock engines without having to drill a single hole, install a bigger water pump, or change the fuel rail. Everything you need to install a RIPP supercharger is included in the box—all you need are the tools and the time.

7) Can a Pentastar V6 engine handle the boost of a RIPP supercharger kit?

One of the most popular questions we get from customers about our supercharger kits is whether their vehicle's engine can handle the boosted power. The short answer is a resounding "YES!"

What's great about the Pentastar engine is that it's almost as if it was built for boost: It has extra oiling squirters under the piston, the skirts are coated in Teflon, and the rods are very thick. We've successfully added 10-11 pounds of boost to dozens of 3.6L Pentastar engines and have driven them hundreds of thousands of miles. We have customers that have eclipsed 250,000 miles with our kits on their vehicles- they just call up and ask if there's anything they need to do to service and maintain them. We're super proud to get a quarter million miles on a modified engine with our product installed -it’s fantastic! So yes, the V6 Pentastar engine can handle the power a RIPP supercharger kit delivers, no problem.

8) Does my vehicle need tuning after I install a RIPP supercharger?

Our complete kits come with preinstalled calibrations ready to go out of the box. However, certain vehicles may require further dyno tuning, as specified in the product description. All RIPP Supercharger kits come with a Diablo Sport tuner computer, which is pre-programmed with a proper base map or full calibration.

We pride ourselves on our thoroughness; our engine mapping has been tested in the most extreme conditions—up to 14,000 feet of altitude, minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit, and above 130 degrees Fahrenheit in the desert.

9) Where can I find a person or shop to install my RIPP supercharger kit?

  2. Open the drain plug on the bottom of the supercharger’s drain line.
  3. Drain oil in the clean container for a visual inspection before disposing.
  4. Close the drain plug.
  5. Fill the supercharger from the fill port/drip stick on top. 4oz. = 1 bottle of Vortech V3 supercharger oil.
  6. Reinstall dipstick / fill-port.

14) Why does your supercharger look like a turbo?

A centrifugal supercharger shares a compressor housing that is similar to that of a turbocharger. However, a supercharger gearbox is belt-driven, while a turbocharger is exhaust-driven.

15) Why doesn't RIPP make supercharger kits for all 2023 vehicles yet?

We support many 2023 model vehicles; however, some 2023 vehicles are equipped with new computers that require R&D to tune them properly. We continue to add more kits regularly; please subscribe to our newsletter at www.rippmods.com to get notified when new RIPP supercharger kits are released.
