Whether navigating city streets or tackling rugged terrains, your 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine needs an efficient cooling system. RIPP proudly introduces its Performance Thermostat, designed for the 3.6L engine, to enhance cooling efficiency. This thermostat has a secret design that sets it apart from others.

The RIPP thermostat increases the efficiency of your engine's cooling system by opening up at a lower temperature. This thermostat will open at 180°F, compared to your vehicle's standard thermostat, which opens at a very hot 210°F. This allows coolant to flow through sooner, helping to reduce and maintain cooler temperatures in the engine. This is also a great addition to vehicles with upgraded radiators and fans.  The RIPP 180° thermostat does not change your vehicle's normal operating temperature and only allows the coolant system to flow earlier.

The Secret: The RIPP thermostat revolutionizes engine cooling with a unique design feature. Unlike conventional thermostats, ours incorporates a longer piston, increasing thermostat valve lift. While factory thermostats typically open at 7mm, the RIPP Thermostat has an impressive 12mm lift! This extra lift is our secret weapon against heat, allowing more coolant flow through the system, thus increasing cooling performance.

The part fits the following 3.6L Pentastar-equipped vehicles:

  • Wrangler JK 2012 - 2018 (JK ONLY)
  • Grand Cherokee 2011 - 2015
  • Durango 2011 - 2015
  • Town & Country 2011 - 2015
  • Caravan 2011- 2015
  • 300 2011 - 2022
  • Challenger 2011 - 2022
  • Charger 2011 - 2022
  • Journey 2011 - 2021
  • Avenger 2011 - 2014

Pro Tips:

Engine Cooling Service: We recommend replacing the thermostat, flushing and refill the cooling system every 45,000 miles or every 4 years. This helps to remove any accumulated debris, contaminants, and old coolant, ensuring the proper functioning of the cooling system. Along with your coolant system service, check coolant expansion tanks, hoses and fittings.

Tuning: Installing the RIPP low-temperature thermostat is a very effective way to lower engine temperatures. Although tuning is unnecessary, with the lower-temperature thermostat installed, you can use the cooler engine conditions to fine-tune fuel and timing parameters. This can result in increased horsepower and torque and avoid any dash lights when operating in a very cold environment. (i.e., installing a lower temp thermostat in a cold environment could trigger a warning light indicating a slow warm-up time)

Coolant Mixture: The coolant-to-water mixture in an engine's cooling system regulates the engine's operating temperature. The mixture typically consists of coolant and water. The standard recommended mixture is a 50:50 mix. However, it is common to adjust the ratio as deemed necessary in race applications or hot environments. A higher water content enhances the thermal conductivity of the mixture, improving its ability to transfer heat away from the engine components. This can benefit a race application where the engine is subjected to high loads and temperatures. Always consult with a professional, as every vehicle will have its own variables.
